Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Studipedia

1. What is Studipedia?

Studipedia is a free educational platform designed to support students preparing for GCSEs and A-Levels. It offers past papers, flashcards, quizzes, and an Exam Builder that lets you create custom exam papers using questions from multiple topics.

2. How do I create a custom exam paper?

To generate an exam, select your level (GCSE or A-Level), subject, and exam board. Then choose topics and questions from the right-hand panel and click 'Generate Exam' to create a custom PDF paper. Generated papers are saved to your account so you can download them later.

3. What happens if I do not have an account?

You can browse past papers and wiki content without an account. However, creating and saving exams with the Exam Builder requires you to be logged in. Logged-out users also have lower credit limits (20 per hour compared to 100) and cannot access previously generated papers.

4. What happens if I use a VPN?

If you use a VPN, your IP address may change frequently, which can affect rate limiting when you are not logged in. Creating an account is recommended, as credits are then linked to your account rather than your IP address. This keeps your credits and saved papers consistent even when your IP changes.

5. How do credits work?

Logged-in users receive 100 credits per hour, while logged-out users receive 20 credits per hour. Generating one exam paper costs 20 credits. Credits reset at the start of each hour and do not roll over. You can view your current credit balance on the Credits page.

6. Do I have to pay to use Studipedia?

Studipedia is free to use for core features such as browsing past papers, wiki content, and the Exam Builder. The Exam Builder uses a credit-based system, as explained above. Paid features may be introduced in the future to help support and maintain the platform.
